Grumpy Santa “as you may now know” is less like the Grinch and more like — well … a Santa. He has a few rare moments of grumpiness with a whole lot of fun and merriment sandwiched around it. (I for one wouldn’t mind parking in the captains chair of a jet — if even for a moment). I spent the day (except during the Cowboy game) re-booking (with our CTO Graeme’s cheery input) several portions of “Grumpy’s” itinerary to give him more time to catch his breath, de-ice his plane in Chicago tomorrow (and some precious moments to upload some video). |
As you might imagine, what Grumpy and his sidekick are attempting is no small feat — not checking any bags, up at 5am in at 11pm, running from terminal to terminal with gear and (for the most part) cheer.
The last flight tonight was delayed, but all in all a pretty good start 10 flights and 9 states covered in 2 days.
Some sleep tonight and possibly a quick breakfast in the a.m. (no doubt green eggs and ham) and off Santa will go on day three of this show.
My guess Thing 1 and Thing 2 are not going to be held at bay long — but so far so good.
I am sending a helper to St. Louis tomorrow to exchange some clean clothes, provide some goodies and let our FareCompare Santa jettison some overpacking
— anyone who is in Grumpy’s path should feel free to tug on his sleeve and have a quick chat.
So as day 2 comes to a close - I’ll let my childhood favorite do the talking …
