Day 5 was a breeze. We only had 3-flights and not one of them was over an hour. The last one was only 20-minutes long, the shortest flight yet (JFK to Hartford). Earlier, spent some time at the airport in Burlington, VT. Lovely. Only wish I had a chance to actually see how pretty the state was. Meanwhile, we were delayed leaving Burlington on our way to JFK, and I could tell the slew of NY hipsters on the plane were afraid they were going to be late for their irony party in DUMBO or their appointment to artfully mess up their hair. Ready? I’m about to tell you what makes Santa SICK!!! |
Thankfully for the hipsters and us, we made it to JFK without much of a problem. That place is a zoo. There are like 8-people talking on the intercom at the same time, announcing 8-different flights. It’s not the busiest airport in the country, but it sure seems like it.
OK, here comes the grumping:. I am so sick of this stupid suit. I am also so sick of “Hey Santa, where’s your reindeer?” “Hey Santa, did your sleigh breakdown?” “Hey Santa, why are so skinny?”
Yes, you’re all very clever.
Just not very original (I’ve heard these comments, oh, about a thousand-times over the past 5-days). So no, you are not the first to greet me this way and I doubt these bon mot’s of yours mean a Pulitzer is on the way.
Sorry. I know it’s not their fault. They’re reacting the way anyone would when they see a short, bleary-eyed, scruffy, baggage-lugging Santa making his way through yet another airport.”
Stay Grumpy!!!!

What’s On Santa’s iTunes? Aimee Mann. Her voice is relaxing, as is her sadness.
P.S. Got some food in me. Feeling less grumpy.
