I think Milwaukee might be my new favorite city in the country. The Milwaukee airport shut down (snow storm) long enough to miss our flights to Des Moines–Denver–Wichita. So, we threw in the towel and decided to stay put. Best decision ever. I got to the hotel around 6:30pm. Early for us! And, I was in a suite, so I could recline on the couch and watch TV (closest thing to home since I’ve been on the road) I had the best dinner of the entire trip (so far).. Then I slept for nine hours. Read about meeting Laverne & Shirley and Brett Favre…by clicking “more”. |
Okay, okay, so I only met them in my dreams!
But anyway, in those dreams, I stayed in Milwaukee for days; doing the Laverne and Shirley dance, sampling beers from the 4,000,000 breweries in town, and strolling to Green Bay for a nice game of catch with Brett Favre.
Alas, as always, the dream died. I had to leave this snowy oasis behind to get on yet another plane to another airport. As Milwaukee fades into the distance and I look out my window to see only snow-covered farmlands, I am reminded of the immortal words of Carmine, The Big Ragout, who said, “Hey Shirl, let’s go dancing.”
Ah, in Milwaukee, I bet they dance all the time.

Grumpy Scale: 3 (don’t think it will ever slip below 3 again)
What’s on Grumpy Santa’s iTunes? Velvet Underground (Greatest Hits) -it’s keeping me going.
