Finally we got the Continental cancellation sorted out. But we had to do it in person (Grumpy Santa and his director did the honors); I never could get through on Continental’s 800-number (busy, busy, busy). Our problem: Continental canceled its Newark to Charleston flight last night, then canceled its Boston to Newark flight this morning. As you can see from Grumpy Santa’s itinerary, that really messed us up… |

Graeme (our CTO) and I finally cracked the crazy east coast swing through Vermont, Rhode Island, Maine and Connecticut. We also started chatting about he logistics of boarding passes (we decided to buy a portable print so Santa could print them out each night on his journey) and how we were going to video blog along the way (no small feat on a 12 day journey) Discussions of battery backups, power strips, back up laptops and cameras, connectivity to the internet at each airport and back up plans if Santa gets diverted or delayed … We are absolutely nuts … I have enough data to book five more days of airline tickets, I think I’ll do it in the morning first thing when fresh eyes won’t make as many mistakes … |

Well, I just purchased the first few tickets — guess there is a little time to put a halt to this craziness — nah! as exhausted as I am — this is pretty fun for a “techy” - I am purchasing for Santa and his helper — which makes things a bit more interesting and tedious — why is the purchasing flow on all these airline sites so painful? These have to be some of the most cumbersome pages on the Internet — … |
